Babies(4 Months - 3 Years old):
We recommend starting lessons at 4 months as we have seen the younger children start, the better the results. We teach them to move independently in the water by using the method designed by Laurie Lawrence. It is a child-centred program, which is taught with parent/carer and child together in the water. Parents are an integral part of their child's aquatic education by providing guidance and support through activities that provide for the development of independence, exploration and water safety skills. Parents are the teachers (we are instructors), so every time the baby has a bath it is a swim lesson. Independence is the main focus therefore no floatation devices are attached to the baby; the child needs to learn their own buoyancy in the water. Our program uses activities, songs and games to teach children a variety of skills including entries, floating, breath control and movement. |
Main skills taught in Parent/Child classes: -Breath control on demand -Movement in Water -Independence -Balance -Respect for the water -Water awareness and Safety |
Main skills practised in classes in 3yrs - school aged classes:

Toddler and Preschool age:
In this program children are learning the fundamentals and development of basic foundation skills in swimming, survival and water safety, using a positive attitude towards learning these essential skills. We guide children through fun and safe activities, gradually building upon their breathing, floating and movement skills; supporting and encouraging independence. The program progresses from initial parental participation to children developing trust and learning through interacting independently with the instructor. Toddler and Preschool aged students are grouped by level to be able to meet each child's individual needs. |
Lessons for school Aged Students:
Our lessons for school aged students are designed to accommodate for all abilities in the water. From children with anxiety in the water to children who are ready to be pushed further and learn stroke technique and every level in between! |
Family Private and Private lessons:
Family private and Private lessons are a fantastic way to have a lesson to suit you and your child's independent needs. -Private lessons are a one-on-one class with the instructor. Suitable for any age and ability. -Family Private lessons can have up-to 4 students per class including siblings or friends. These classes are fantastic for large families or for those who are strapped for time. |
